A People's History of the United States

Most Americans missed this part of our history. So have many of our children and grandchildren.

This is the book to read if what you\'ve heard or are hearing doesn\'t make sense, if you\'re confused about whether you are losing rights or never had them in the first place, or if you simply want to know more (Just what is the income tax law, anyway?).

This is a book that includes voices and events that have been left out of our standard texts, voices some of us never heard until now, voices that present the many sides of our stories -- not just the one. It is here you can learn what America originally stood for, what we still stand for, what we\'ve fought for, what the important battles were, and what we won or lost. If you\'re anything like me, it will shock your socks off.

Sadly, many "well-educated" Americans haven\'t heard  these stories because the voices that told them have been and still are being silenced. Howard Zinn\'s History goes a long way toward balancing the equation. It should be mandatory reading in every high school and A Young People\'s History in every elementary and middle school in the U.S.  Every library should own at least one copy.
