 This is highly recommended reading for anybody interested in the history of civil liberties. The themes range from World War 2 to the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Also discussed are the hegemony of the corporate media and the dangers of patriotism and nationalism. Howard Zinn's style of writing is extremely accessible and truly inspirational.
