Alice Walker's poem "The Old Men Used To Sing" sung, with improvised accompaniment. Navdeep Sidhu (lyric melody, voc, djembe), Achim Nels (alt sax), Josef Hilker (guit), Peter Frank (bass) and Juergen Sievert (dr). Josef tells me that the seven-note guitar and bass refrain in this recording is from Lonnie Liston Smith. Performed as part of Days of Indian Culture 2012, Goettingen, Germany, November 21, 2012. (First performed at the Goettinger Jazz Festival, 2011.)
