An Ode to My Government

Change Text Size a- | A+

Fuck you
Fuck you that separates me from my neighbor
Fuck you
Fuck you that tells me it's for my own good
Fuck you
Fuck you that made me suspicious and scared of my brothers
Fuck you
Fuck you that butchers his family in broad daylight
Fuck you
Fuck you that lies to the world
Fuck you
Fuck you that can't take the responsibility for the atrocities you have committed in my name
In my name: Fuck you
Fuck you that will have your bloody cake and eat It, too
Fuck you
Fuck you that doesn't let me protest
Fuck you
Fuck you that allows rockets to be shot at my head
Fuck you
Fuck you that uses history only to repeat itself
Fuck you
Fuck you that create a fascism in democracy's clothing
Fuck you
Fuck you that will use war to get elected by an ignorant mob that you've  created
And while we're at it: Fuck you
Fuck you that are ignorant and ignore reality
Fuck you
Fuck you that are militant and cheer on the slaughter
Fuck you
Fuck you that made it a tradition to hate
Fuck you
Fuck you that couldn't do the right thing and made me hate you
Fuck you
Fuck you for your lies and murder
Fuck you for your distortion and oppression
Fuck you for your fear and hate
Fuck you my beloved government.

Your thoughts

By Isaacs, Joel at Jan 22, 2009 09:50 AM

Dear Tali,

I send my love to your spirit. May your spirit continue to guide you in the direction of truth and justice.

And may the force of your words help your people and your government to see their tragedy, as I hope the words of all your comrades here at Z will help the United States to see its own.

A catharsis against the ancient rule of the jungle.  Jungle rules exist...sad but true.   :-)  Check out my poem if you get a chance...Gaza is burning...let me know.  Cheers, Noel.

My thoughts...

By Donahue, Paul at Jan 16, 2009 11:58 AM

Over here in the USA, I likweise feel the bitterness expressed in this poem.

The lesson over the past eight years has been that might makes right, modern democracy is an utter joke, and the powerful can do anything they like, even murder millions, and they will never face justice - as long as the violence serves the wealthy.   Their succesor will simply berate those seeking justice as "looking backward instead as forward, as our next dictator awaiting his grand coronation has said.

But I am 52 and wishing I was 82.  You are young, you shouldn't be so pessissmistic.

Paul and Mr. Costigan, I'm the one that always jokes that if you add a 0 to the end of my biological age, you get my real age. I am old, tired and pessimistic. But I know that I'm not. This is my fight- I have no other, and so I speak and ask for love- that is my hope. If it wasn't there, I wouldn't have written this in the first place.
