My impression is that Phyllis is too credulous about our administration's change of positions on Mubarek and his regime. Obama has always been good with words, but his actions have invariably belied those words, so as long as they do not call for Mubarek's removal (with his cronies), I would give no credence to their words.  At worst, this thing could blow over—it is not clear the game the military is playing.
