If it Quacks Like a Duck
Only villains act villainously
Only the ones with secrets act secretively
Only the wrong act righteously
Only ducks quack
If you kill like a killer
If you rape like a rapist
If you lie about it like a liar
You must be a duck
It's your world, isn't it, ducky?
You made it for the children?
For me?
Your villainous world?
Your secretive world?
Your righteous world?
For me?!
I detest your laws
I reject your logic
I destroy your world
Your trees grow on blood
Your houses built on shallow graves
Your children thrive on propaganda and Coke
And quack like ducklings
I refuse you your crown
I refuse to abuse
I refuse to quack

A brief comment on this poem

Tali, I know we are not supposed to post short comments but I just wanted to thank you for having the courage to post this poem. As far as I am concerned what matters is not so much how you say things - and you say them in a raw, promordial manner - but what you are actually saying. I also detest their laws and reject their logic even though I cannot destroy their world as it is the envelop of mine. - Athan

Athan,
There are many ways to destroy the world- as it exists today- detesting (vocally) and rejecting are just two. Keeping your head up- that's a third. We must all do that.
And thank you for the good words :)
