Important Lessons

This is a great talk, since it's very important for movement groups to not replicate the mistakes of the past. There's no virtue in re-inventing the wheel every generation.
I like the discussion of nonviolence, even though it really is a non-issue in the United States.
Unfortunately, I've encountered in my (very limited) experience with left groups a sense of that same judgementalist attitude talked about in the video, with regard to tastes in music, movies, clothing and sports (I remember a meeting planned to occur during the Superbowl of all things - and not to watch the Superbowl of course).
A much more serious judgmentalist attitude also occurs with regards to people's political ideologies ("more left than thou") and opinions about tactical matters (as if opposing a tactical argument because it does not fit well within current context can somehow be "not radical" or "liberal").
As Albert mentions elsewhere, its actually a good thing to find these flaws. If they weren't there, and we were perfect beings all along.... that's damn depressing, because that means we can't even improve ourselves.
