Hello,

Blogs are a familiar feature on the internet - where users post content in an accumulating manner, with comments, and search options, etc. They facilitate expression and exploration, and via attached comments, also debate and synthesis.

Reading and
Navigating Blogs

Our blogs are quite powerful. Each writer can post, as is typically the case. Sustainers who have the option can also post, however. All Blogs appear in the blog system, and sometimes also in content boxes the top page of ZNet - and always via the left menu of the top page - and can be found via searches, etc.

Commenting on blogs follows the blogs, attached at the bottom, and blog comments, like all others, are also visible in many places that show comments including in the forum system. In addition, the entire blog system gathers content for everyone - but one can look at the accumulating content in many ways.

  • For example one can look at one writer's efforts - so one is seeing what is effectively a blog system for that one writer, or Sustainer.
  • One can also look at the content by topic, seeing blogs that are tagged as being about a certain topic - or place, as well. Thus, when doing that, it is a blog system about a topic, or a place, with many contributors.
  • One can look at only writer blogs, or only sustainer blogs, as well.
  • One can look at blogs for particular Groups, too.

All this is easily done using the left menu. Searches allow even more variables and refinements.

Creating Blog Posts

If you are a Sustainer with permission, and are logged in, you will see a link in the left menu for you to post a blog - and you can use that to post one, and then tag it various ways (such as with a topic or place, or a group tag), and once you do, it is in the system with you as the author.

You can also use the console button to the left to post a blog - anytime and from anywhere in the site, as long as you are logged in.

Meanwhile, enjoy the blogs - and, by the way, if you are a Free Member or a Sustainer with a ZSpace page, of course you can put one or more content boxes on it, pulling blog links of any sort you may want to filter for, for example, by you or by your friends or by others - and by topic, about places, for groups, etc.

Note to Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers: Do Your Damn Constitutional Jobs

By Paul Street at Nov 28, 2006

Change Text Size a- | A+

Listen up Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers: were talking to you. It's already – I said already – past time to stop the doh-see-doh square dancing with the War Criminal in Chief.  It's time to start the rocking and rolling.  We want to see some president removing. And Cheney too.

Look the Liar in Chief in the eyes. Take your right index finger and point it down to the ground above from just a little over and to the side of your head and repeat after me: “it's on. It's on, George. We're coming.”

Screw this lunching with royal brute thing. It's times to Do the Right Thing. You know it We know it.  And we know you know we know it: the motherfucker belongs behind bars. Hell, he knows it himself: how come he's buying all this land in Paraguay?  And Cheney too.

Nancy Pelosi and John Conyers, you need to save your legacies and move to impeach the mass-murderous son of a bitch who is sitting in illegal impunity in that oval office. You need to try and convict and remove that worthless, incompetent, and authoritarian, hyper-plutocratic, proto-fascist messianic militarist over at 1600 Pennsylvania. .He and his handlers are the Shame of the Nation and a Danger to all Humankind.

We've got the goods on him – the illegal wiretapping (which violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act), the illegal torturing (which violated the War Crimes Act of 1996 and the Geneva Conventions), the ”fixed-in advance of the policy” (to quote the Downing Street Memo) war-justifying “intelligence” (which was “cooked to order” not “bad” and violated a key federal statute that forbids materially false statements by federal officials), the failure to adequately protect his own GIs in occupied Iraq (which violates his oath of office) and more – and now you've got the duty.   Please read the Constitution (especially Article II, section 4) again if you have to, study your history, look at the Bush record, consult the polls, take a look in the mirror, search what's left (after years in Washington DC) of your souls and get ready to do your damn jobs.  Starting next January, you need to begin the process.  It's time to remove the bastard. And Cheney too.

Yes, you are going to have to eat your words.  You said it was “off the table.” Nope. Put it back, Nancy.  Put it back, John.  Sorry, but we'll burn this place down.  I've been talking to a few million fellow Americans and we all agree that this “impeachment is off the table” line is the weakest shit we've ever heard…well the weakest shit since half of you  “democrats” authorized Bush to attack Iraq and signed the Patriot Act and….fill in the blank (you've got a lot of making up to do).

So here's the deal: We're going to give you another chance.  Eat those words and come to your senses before it's too late.  .

Gang-banger Bush is daring you to do your damn jobs.  He's giving you the old raised middle finger.  It's hard to miss. He's sitting up today in front a bunch of damn NATO commissioners in freaking Latvia – I said LATVIA, people – talking about how  there's not going to be any troop removal from Iraq on his watch.  The royal bastard with his 30 percent approval rating and his recent mid-term humiliation and his idiot brain and his sense of messianic mission is up over there in freaking Latvia talking this shit in TOTAL DEFIANCE of the expressed will of the American people, the expressed will of the Iraqi people, and the expressed will of the politically and morally cognizant human race.

And guess what: he's blaming al Qaeda for all the mess over there…the mess he amd Cheney and Rumbo and Wolfowitz (remember him?)  created and which numerous people and institutions (both inside and outside of government and foreign policy establishment) told them they were going to create.  Yes, he's still trying to wrap Iraq into al Qaeda and 9/11….after everything that's happened and after the American people have rejected the association. Did you hear where he actually had the asinine audacity to sit up there and tell IRAN it shouldn't intervene in Iraq unless it could do so "in a constructive way.” The illegal, unjust, unnecessary, and mass-murderous war he criminally LIED us into Iraq is so constructive it has killed 700,000 Iraqis and is closing in on 3,000 U.S. GIs.

How's that bipartisan legislative agenda going? What's it like working across party lines with those war criminals? What's the matter, Madam Speaker Elect, don't you want to be the president?  Hello? Can you hear us?  Is anybody there?

Economic Justice

By Kissenger, Clark at Dec 19, 2006 19:48 PM

There is no left wing socialist democrat, just as the is no right wing conservative republican serving anywhere in our society. What there is however, are a pack of liars manipulating the masses to get elected to public office so they can get or stay rich and continue to control who gets the majority of the riches created on the backs of labor, the average American worker. It was labor American labor which created the greatest wealth the world has ever known resulting in the most unjust concentration of wealth and power, the world has ever witnessed. The hypocrisy of American style democracy, and the millions supporting the fraud.

My plan for a new America.

First -Anyone elected to public office or appointed to a high level governmental position will be required to divest of all their worldly possessions forever. In return, they will be paid either 2x their salary or 2x the national median income for life, upon completion of public service. Such a legal requirement of Politicians will insure that they are not all in it for the money. Money/personal greed will no longer rule the hearts and minds of politicians. Corruption of our elected officials will end.

Second - Income tax structure will become progressively more aggressive to the point that, All income above $2,000,000 would be taxed at 100%, and I mean all income from all sources, including a stockholders share of corporate income.

Third - Eliminate corporate person hood and require all stockholders be personally responsible for the criminal conduct and financial obligations of the business. The tobacco settlement and Enron and Worldcom are all perfect examples of why corporate person hood needs to be eliminated. Corporations in America have been corrupted by the greed of its managers and Boards of Directors.

Fourth - Guys like Gates and Buffet should not be allowed to control their wealth from the grave through the establishment of Private Foundations, and all assets of all foundations in existence today should be nationalized for the public good and used for public purposes, because they where really created by government to allow rich people to avoid inheritance taxes.

Fifth - Social Security taxes will be imposed on all income from all sources, for everyone.

Sixth - No Stock certificate can be purchased, held, or valued by any private or public pension plan or held for purposes of retirement that exceeds the "book value" -assets minus liabilities- of the "Corporation" issuing the stock.

Seventh - No public employee will receive health care paid for by the taxpayers which is not also provided to private legal citizens by there employer or other National Health Care Policy.

Eighth - Illegal immigrants will have no right to any governmental paid assistance including education and hospitalization, and will be deported upon discovery.

Ninth - No public employee will receive a pension greater than that Guaranteed to private citizens under ERISA and the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation.

Tenth - All education - including technical college, college and graduate level work will be free to all who can meet the challenge.

Lastly - Inheritance Taxes should be increased to 100% after a $5,000,000 exclusion for blood relatives.

All government is about who gets the money. Our government has done a real lousy job in its obligation to provide the legal frame work to create economic justice.

There will never be peace without economic justice being the foundation upon which government is built. Greed is the foundation of America, which has been universally true for all governments throughout all of history.

Impeach Bush

By Kissenger, Clark at Dec 14, 2006 14:59 PM

Sorry Erik - you simply can't handle the truth. Don't feel bad you have a lot of company - Deny reality - Deny the truth - Deny that a bad Choice was made. Facts are facts. The facts say load and clear.

Bush is a War Criminal. He should pay with his life - clear and simple.

When Bush has been put to death then maybe the World can start over and see if "Nice " works to defeat pervasive human corruption.

You be nice and I'll be nice - sounds great.

"Rule of Law" vs. "Greater Good"

By Kissenger, Clark at Dec 03, 2006 15:05 PM

Paul thanks for your courage in beating this drum!

Victor - that was great!

If 635 wise men were all going in the wrong would direction would you follow if you knew they were all wrong. 2004 Election proved that most would and did. 2006 was a different story. The election shocked both parties. 2008 will be an American Revolution.

Iraq is not a war - it is an occupation of another country by the Oil Industry led Chaney. The War on Terrorism can not be won. Anyone who can think should know that to be true. Economic justice is the only means to bring world peace. Nothing else will ever work.

"Rule of law" can not and never will exist, because the law will always be subject to interpretation and enforcement by men of power and wealth.

"Rule of Law" is just one more huge fraud that has been indoctrinated into the weak minds of your average citizen. Countless other examples exist like "under God" and freedom and liberty and justice and democracy and religious dogma and capitalism and life and happiness.

Government has always been about who gets the money, "Rule of Law" only exists for those who can afford $1000 an hour lawyers, or the power to appoint Attorney Generals and Judges and Special Prosecutors. Corruption rules for all who care to stand witness to the truth.

Economic justice equals freedom. There can be no greater good without individual good first. Greater Good is the lie of all times.

I have to say that what you say is absolutely true. The "rule of law" does not appear to apply to some chosen and elite few, who seem to do as they want when they want. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice should be in jail - not just impeached. But further, that the Congress of the United States, both Democrats and Republicans, participated willingly in this fraud, consciously and callously playing on the fears and prejudices of their constituents to get their way with us. But even worse, the American people, properly informed by mass media or not, as usual gave little or no thought to the crime of waging an illegal war upon a country who had made no aggressive move towards them, as they have done on so many previous occasions. And like Vietnam, when the going got tough, only then did they get upset enough to vote the bastards out of office. They didn't get upset because they suddenly realised what a wrong their government had committed (and by proxy themselves). They didn't get upset because they lost too many of their sons and daughters to a criminal act of aggression. They didn't get pissed off because things went on too long and became a mess. No, far worse than that, the American people got pissed off because they found themselves LOSING. I'm angry with the US government and think its fundamental structure should be changed to idiot-proof it, removing the bicameral form of "representative democracy" and removing the nationally elected offices of President and Vice-President (who no longer have the interests of the people at heart but instead see themselves as empirial heads responsible to no one), replacing them with a Parlimentary form of government populated by locally elected and financed members and headed by a Prime Minister, and outlawing any form of armed forces that are any other than defensive in nature and capability. I'm angry with the rich and powerful of the United States who I regard as the greatest threat this world and its environment has ever faced, and should be stripped of their ill-gotten wealth and sent to prison where they have sent so many of our brothers and sisters of all races. Their multi-national corporations should be dismantled and laws passed to severely regulate their powers. But as for the people of the United States, it is in them I am most deeply ashamed and disgusted, and truly embarrassed to call myself an American. For without them, none of the above can ever happen, nor will it until it is too late. Until the American people wean themselves of these adolescent tendencies toward violence to settle scores (socially, nationally, and internationally), until they stop worshipping Hollywood and sports images of supheroes like Superman, Batman, Arnold Schwarznegger, Clint Eastwood and the like, until they stop seeing themselves as always good and everyone else as something a little less than human, of questionable motives and to be feared, until they rid themselves of this national hysteria and delusional paranoia, their government will continue to play them like violins, they will continue to run half-cocked into wars like the heroes they see themselves as, they will continue to blame the victims of their petty aggressions, they will continue to wonder why everyone else in the world hates them, and they will forever deny themselves the non-violent skills necessary to negotiate peaceful solutions to serious problems and the ability to put their money not into the military but where it would do the most good, into social programs that give true dignity and honor and freedom and support to those most in need - the trampled people of the world.

Impeach Bush

By Kissenger, Clark at Nov 30, 2006 18:19 PM

Americans ignored observed facts as the entire country stood witness. Living a distorted reality of spin and deception by the government and the media.

Bush lied and everyone knows he lied. The sickness of our uncivil society lies in the constant mantra of "rule of law" that obviously does not  apply to the rich and powerful. Anyone who can think knows that corruption has taken over our society, at almost every level.

The hypocrisy of democracy.

special convention s should not apply to war criminal such as Bush.. in, insight Mrs Pelosi, you could give him - Bush- a similar trial like the one Saddam Hussein received before sending him to the electric chair.
