I was very impressed with the solidarity shown by Noam Chomsky, John Pilger and other writers and activists who signed this petition:

I am sure the victims of rural violence in Venezuea, and their familes, would be grateful.

Guardian - The Voice of the Establishment
By Andrews, John at Aug 02, 2011 14:21 PM
Thanks for this blog.
People really need to wise up on what the Guardian newspaper in the UK stands for. It may appear to be a left leaning liberal newspaper but, in reality, it is the voice of the establishment - a reactionary rag staffed by middle class, privately educated, well-to-do journos who love nothing more that attempting to discredit Noam Chomsy, John Pilger, Arundhati Roy, Julian Assange etc in order to preserve the bankrupt system that keeps them well fed.
Check out the work of Media Lens in the UK for more information on the Guardian newspaper - www.medialens.org
Best wishes
John Andrews
