*** IS THE CAMPUS CLOSED ON THE DAYS WE ARE PLANNING TO HAVE THE WORKSHOP AND IF SO WHERE THE HELL ARE WE GOING TO DO IT?

SDS Preamble

We read it and had feedback.

That's a good preamble, but people shouldn't sign it, they should sign the constitution.

The wording of how, what, and why they are signing it should be worded very carefully.

What are they agreeing to when they sign this? What are the consequences. What does signing this mean?

Preamble, should read more like “I understand it is the function of this group to achieve these ends and values.” It should not a statement about themselves personally.

Should be more like signing a syllabus for class. It's a tool to make sure people know what they're getting in to.

Constitution should be much more nuts and bolts and unambiguous. You agree to use these procedures.

Membership: When it's okay to kick someone out. Which is tantamount to what the required principals are. Should be clearly defined who's in and who's out and should be decided by unanimous consensus.

Signing will mean that people have read and understood

Constitution

  • Explicit things that people must agree to to be a member

  • Signing will mean that people must agree

Peace Festival Table

  • Flier with details (like the dates or something) explaining the SDS Action Workshop with an email for people to contact us for the specifics. - Garrett? Sorry buddy, we're inept.

  • Banner (the old one), literature (explaining what sds is)

El Centro sds

  • Invite them to the SDS Action Workshop? YES!
