Since reading William Blum\'s book entitled," Killing Hope : U.S. Miltary and C.I.A. Interventions Since WW2" I have looked at the American Government and the role of Capitalism with a different perspective. Watching the National Film Board of Canada\'s documentary,"Manufacturing Consent" has revealed to me that the Corporate owned and operated Mass Media car not one bit about Freedom of Speech or Democracy. Watching  Joel Bakan\'s documentary "The Corporation" confirmed my worst fears. We live and have lived in a lie for quite some time BUT I read a book sometime ago entitled," Parecon" by by Professor Michael Albert. Parecon or Participatory Economics is a good economic system that envelopes democracy and freedom of speech by people and for people on a day to day basis. The United States is certainly waging a war on democracy but there are answers out there.
