Person

so where are the *feminists*?

OK, so we're hearing from women. Why is there no feminist content in any of the ideas raised by these women, any feminist perspective included in the overall protest messages/ideas?
Women are disproportionately impacted by economic crises; women are at the center of "economic recovery" --meaning-- when corporate forces and state come together to shred social programs, it's women-- since still exploited as primary care-takers and/yet paid the least- who are hit hardest. The communities- since communities are traditionally--aka patriarchally bound together by women- are then shredded. This is why rape during war is such a great occupier strategy against occupied countries. Thus "recovery" itself can be as exploitative of women as the "sickness" to be recovered from. Much more needs to be said but--The deep structure of this capitalist system is patriarchal. I'm just surprised to not even hear an inkling of a feminist voice in this new wave of protests. I'm going today in NYC with feminist posters and friends (today is October 1) and we'll see what happens.
