To a downcast activist
By Daniel Mathews at Jun 17, 2008
When the sun refuses to lift the shadows, shine a light there.
When the balloons only obscure the sadness, puncture them.
When the blithe faces refuse to turn around to face the fact, stand in front of them.
And when the dismayed revellers turn on the tellers of truth, repeat it.
Repeat it until the sunshine and the balloons and the smiles are shared by all, and everybody is a reveller.
