Z Communications Fundraiser
Z must again raise funds. We wish this weren't necessary, but it is. This year we have a two part campaign.
On the one hand we are seeking $150,000 as the minimum we need to raise to keep operating essentially as we have been - which means to avoid drastic cuts in staff and offerings. This could be increases in committed Sustainer donations or new ones, or one time direct donations.
Our second effort, simultaneous with the first and hopefully augmenting it, seeks to raise another $350,000 for a total of $500,000. You may be thinking - are they nuts?
Given our number of users, given what the site provides around the world, and given how little each individual user, on average would have to commit to make this massive financial infusion happen - plus, given the good Z could do with that kind of funding - instead of being nuts to try now, we wonder why we never tried before.
So for the next month, and likely longer, we will be seeking both a minimum necessary support level, to avoid cuts - and a maximum plausible support level, to hugely enhance our operations.
And we will campaign vigorously. Indeed, on the top page of ZNet you will see our detailed message about the funding campaign. There is even a video to watch. And there are many testimonials to read, and a moving letter from Noam Chomsky as well.
This all appears as an overlay, covering what would otherwise be there - but you can get access the usual content just by clicking the overlay away. Also, please note, we will periodically change what is on this overlay, reporting how the campaign is doing, offering new information, etc.
So please, what can we say? Help us out as best you can.
You can give a one time donation. How about giving the price of a nice dinner for yourself or for your family, or, if you can manage it - for your whole neighborhood!
And/or if you are already a Sustainer, you can raise the amount of your Sustainer donation, and if you aren't a Sustainer this is a perfect time to become one.
For any of these types of support, and just for using our site and thereby making it valuable, we thank you.
Indeed, if you donate $60 or more in a one time way, or if you sign up as a Sustainer or raise your current donation level as a Sustainer to $60 or more over the next year, we will even send you as an extra sign of our appreciation, Noam Chomsky’s newest ZVideo, "What Went Wrong." Of course if you join, you also get Sustainer benefits.
Now - please, click a donation link from here or from the site top page campaign overlay - and we will do our thing, too...
