Hello,

Quick Guide

  • Toggle See Books of the Week to see past ones, and you can search among them.

  • Toggle Suggested for becoming a Book of the Week to see those, and again you can search

  • If you are a Writer or Sustainer, toggle to Suggest a Book of the Week and you can use the search by Title or Author to find a particular book in the database to propose for the status.

  • To add a book that isn't already in the database, click the appropriate link to do so, fill in the data, and save the information into the database. Please try to find time to upload a cover with the describition, title, author, etc. for any book you add. You can find covers on Google, Amazon, various independent book seller sites, or the publisher.

In more detail:

  • To see past books of the week, just click the circle See Books Of Week. Then you can enter a year or month - or you can leave the filter choice as "all" to see the whole list. You can also search by title - or by a word in the title, or by author. That approach may yield many hits after you click search to finally see books listed.

  • You can do Currently Suggested books the same way - just choose Suggested Books as the search type and you will see them all, as the default. Then proceed as above, using the search to find one, or just browse through them -  to see what folks are proposing.

  • Finally, If you are a Sustainer or Writer and you want to Suggest a Book to become Book of the Week, choose Suggest a Book as your search type. All books are found. Then enter some text from the title and click search, or an author if you prefer. You can then see your book, and perhaps some others that fit the filter. Click the link that appears along with the book information to have the title for the book you want to enter enter the Suggested Status.

  • If you do not see a book you want to suggest when you enter some text from its title - that's no problem. Use the link available to Add A Book to the Database. Once you add it, you can then suggest it. When you add a book, please try to add its cover, too - you can get it, invariably, from Google or online stores, the publisher's site, etc.

When you are thinking about proposing a book for Book of the Week Status, it is also wise to please see if has already been a Book of the Week, or is already proposed as one.

Books of the Week are ultimately chosen, roughly one per week, by ZStaff from among those Proposed/Selected by Users. So, have at it!

Finally, if you want to find a book to read it - we highly recommend independent booksellers, but a free option is libraries, of course. Worldcat is a web site that will allow you to find public copies of books in closest proximity to where you live or are - try it.
