What Are Blogs? |
A Blog System is a compendium of posts by authors who are entitled to display in that setting. A blog post is a single entry in some blog system or systems.
Within ZCom, we offer each Sustainer and Writer his or her own personal blog system - a compendium of their blog posts displayed together - which personal systems in turn appear in a whole ZCom blog system that displays content from all the personal blogs within the site. What appears in ZCom's personal blog systems, and derivatively in the overall ZCom blog system, is entirely up to those posting. There is no central selection or editing of posts. All ZCom blogs can be searchd by topic, place, and more specific words. All ZCom blog posts can be commented on by any ZCom free Member, Sustainer, or Writer and the comments thereafter display attached to the blog post they address, in compendiums of all comments in ZCom, and in ZCom's forum system. |
Who Gets to Have a Blog? |
Sustainers who donate at a level conveying blogs as a benefit and Z Writers get their own personal blog systems as part of the overall ZCom blog system. |
How do you Write and post a Blog? |
If you are a Sustainer with blog permission, or a regular Z writer, you simply log in and visit the blogs - for example, via the tabbed menu at the top of all pages. Then, choose post a blog from the Left menu, and enter your post. If you are doing a long post, you may wish to write it in a text editor and then just copy it into the form. Another option, to post a blog at any time is to visit your account (the link is "My Account" next to your name in line of links below the tab menu. Then choose the post a blog option. And still another way to post a blog, anytime, in one click, is to use the second icon in the set of icons (also called your control panel) located at the bottom of your browser window all the time you are in ZCom. The first icon if for posting an article, the second is for a blog, and others are for graphics, books, lyrics, photo albums, etc. |
How do you Edit a Blog? |
After you submit your blog post it will appear in your personal blog and also in the encompassing ZCom blogs. You can, however, still edit it. Just visit your account page and choose the link to see your blogs, which you can then choose to edit. In general, you should not alter a blog post AFTER people comment on it... |
How do you Comment on a Blog? |
If you are a free Member, Sustainer, or Z Writer, at the bottom of any blog post you read there is a link to comment. Just do it! Your comment will be appened to the blog post and will also appear in compendium lists of comments and in the ZCom Forum system. |
How do some Blog posts wind up on the top page of ZNet? |
This is the one part of ZCom blog display that ZCom does select for. We see all blog posts by Sustainers and also writers, and those we find particularly noteworthy or assess as likely to be particularly valuable to ZCom users, we feature on the ZNet top page. |
