Help With Photo Albums
To see the photos click a link titled "show" or click a photo. Then, on the new page, click a photo and you will see it full size. Then if you move your cursor to the right side of the photo, you can click the little arrow to see the next one in the album.
The idea of our photo albums feature is relatively simple.
Leftists are people, like all others. We are very focussed on various social, historical matters. But we also have rich and diverse lives in addition to or beyond our activism and reading/thinking about analysis, vision, and strategy. Being one dimensional tends to undermine even being any good at the one dimension, much less all others! So this is one of our extra dimensional pages!
Beyond each of us being complex people, part of knowing each other, part of trusting each other, part of enjoying each other, part of learning from each other, is to share some of who we are and what we do - whether the political or the extra-political dimensions - and one way to do that is by way of photos.
So, on people's ZSpace pages - Free Members and Sustainers get these - we have provided a means for Sustainers to upload what we call photo albums.
- The Sustainer creates an album, with some focus and presumably a related and indicative title.
- Then the Sustainer uploads photos to his or her albums.
- Finally, by clicking the link for an album, a viewer can see a nice display of the Sustainer's photos.
That's what we had up until this page you are viewing was added. But now we also have this cumulative page to facilitate browsing.
You see, before there was no way to know if a particular person had any photo albums online. And worse, you could only see an album by going to the "owners" ZSpace page, and once there, clicking the link for the album. But this ZPhotos page makes things much easier and more useful.
Here you can peruse just albums and their photos, all in one place. Then if you want to visit someone's ZSpace page, you can.
More, on this page, the albums are listed with the most recent first. Thus, if you view this page for a bit and you feel up to date with albums, and then you come back after a week or two, you will see, right at the top, all the new albums that you haven't see, before, and only after them, the ones that you have seen. Nice.
There is also a pull down menu at the top listing all those who have photo albums. Thus, if you open that pull down list of photo album "owners" you can pick any one of them to travel straight to that person's entry on this page. It is very easy to do and a very convenient tool for finding photos by someone you care about.
And that's it.
This is not very complex. It is not very elaborate. It is just a simple and straightforward way for our community to upload photos into albums - from their ZSpace pages - coupled to a way for all users to navigate among all the albums and see those they wish to view!
Thanks, and enjoy!
And remember, if you want to add your photos to the mix - just log in and go to your ZSpace page, or your account page, create an album - or two or three or more - and upload your photos! The rest is automatic.
