For a very long time I have been utterly disgusted with Z-NET and many elements in the Anglo-American Left for this kind of blind denial of both Chavez's own dictatorial nature and his love for dictators just like his pals Gaddafi and Mugabe i...

Thank you, Prof. Chomsky, for extending your original article. It is a highly interesting read. With regards to Pakistan's "fury" at the invasion you mention I was wondering whether or not you have noted a recent Guardian ...

One has to agree with this article but one needs to go further. Bin Laden served the end for the U.S. state that "Julius Goldstein" served in 1984 for the State there i.e. he was the annoucned "enemy" even though he had ...

It seems to me that Cuba's economic liberalization policy will eventually do away with the revolution. Why not allow only two kinds of private organization: self-employment, and the formation of egalitarian worker cooperatives for the purpose ...

Clear full of information, correct so far as I can find, itself odd in these days of misinformation (putting it politely) but apart from suggesting we (the coalition of those still willing) get to hell out of other peoples territory, the sooner fe...

As one has come to expect from Prof Chomsky. What a pity our information sources, the media for most of us is so poor but then the media must make profit for shsareholders so the role of informing so a democratic system has a chance of working is...

When we start from the position that there will alaways be tension around the Universal (Are they Western values or just human?) we allow many more conditions of possibility to open up. It is not ever black and white despite what we might wish.

Excellent article. It was pleasure reading the article. He did not mention the case of Sweden. Swedish democrats (with a far-right rhetoric and just toned it down, a little, before elections) won 20 seats and 5.7% of the votes in 2010 elections.

Yes, spot on - the BNP are a farcical unit that are currently imploding and about to be trounced in local elections. The EDL are a bunch of thugs, but going absolutely nowhere. So let's not get carried away on that one!

Thank you for this enlightening piece on yet another hypocritical doctrine of American foreign policy: one that uses "democracy" as an ideological mask to pursue hegemonic, economic and militaristic control of the world. My favorite line...
