Brett presently twiddles bits (and helps other people when the bits won't twiddle right) for a monstrous multinational banking cabal.  Despite the obvious ethical perils, he finds this to be the most acceptable line of work for which he is qualified.  His other attempts have included academia, soldiering, flight instruction and law enforcement.

He lives in The Woodlands, Texas, where he spends most of his free time absorbed in one or more fantasies of a "life that does not so closely resemble hell."
 
His interest in Z Communications elevated to a desire to help support it financially only after a few years of leeching off the superb writing and other media, and after his realization that he shared Noam Chomsky's view that the 'net, and Z in particular, probably represent humanity's best chance at eroding the advantage that the power elites have enjoyed in their information war.

He was born in Houston in 1974.
