I’m an economist, historian, freelance writer and environmental activist.
I studied history, archaeology, languages, economics and business up to doctoral level at the London School of Economics, the Universities of London, Manchester, Warwick, New York and Erlangen. That probably makes me a bit of a perpetual student. But I did somehow manage to work for thirty years in some of the more rarefied echelons of business. What a dreadful mixed metaphor!
Nowadays, although I do very occasionally appear in a nice suit in some swanky boardroom, my career has become more eclectic: as a writer, educator and economic consultant. See: www.thewildpeak.com and http://thewildpeak.wordpress.com/
Regardless of what I happened to be doing to make a living, my twin passions have always been history, in its widest sense, and ecology.
Oh, and I live in a little Basque village in the Pyrenees with my usually sunny therapist wife and children.
