Brief Bio.

EDUCATION

Sacred Heart Mount Anville Montessori 1975-77; Willow Park Primary School 1977-83; Blackrock College 1983-89

Exams: Hons Inter Cert, Hons Leaving Cert

Foundation Year at National College of Art and Design: 1989-90

Animation course at Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design: 1990-91

While at Dun Laoghaire my short animation film The Box Trick was selected for screening at Galway Film Fleadh.

I was subsequently chosen for participation in one year Film Base cross-border film, radio & t.v. making project.

SUBSEQUENT CAREER.

Over the next eight years, while helping support myself as an occasional sandwich waiter, my achievements included:

* exhibiting my comic art at Dublins Head  Gallery, All Rise - political comic art by 3 cartoonists comissioned by the gallery from All Rise comic we had published.

* painting a large mural for the inner city St Michen’s crèche and then supervised children in the creation of a mural of their own.

* was chosen by the United Arts Club to give a Promising Young Artist exhibition of 24 large paintings, all of which were sold

* worked as a film extra on over 20 productions, including Braveheart and Fair City

*weekly guest commentator for over a year on Ana Livia's Community Radio- The Road Home Show.

*contributed graphic work to the Sunday Tribune

Since joining Top Security in 2000 -2009 as a security guard, I worked towards widening my qualifications as a graphic artist by filming weddings, which enabled me to acquire proficiency in Final Cut editing software, and by taking digital portraits of imigrants I worked with in my job, to build up my Photoshop capability. This led to a number of my portrait being selected for exhibition at the annual Eigse festival in Carlow.

With the support of the Maltese Ambassador, I filmed a short film on Malta’s pre-history, and last year I shot footage on Mayan Temples on the Yucatan Peninsula & Florida Peninsula Theme Parks for a short film I am now editing. 

In 2008 I completed my first docunentary, a 24-minute film "Lulu and Lucy Get Married" dealing with the Chinese community in Dublin, which together with my recently completed documentary "Sleeping Malta" I am submitting to various festivals.

While progressing these various projects, I have also been creating animations while studying full time internet tutorial courses on Adobe After Effects, Adobe Flash Animation & 4d Animation which promises to qualify me for a full career as a free-lance animator & filmmaker.

Also I am as I first was an artist & over the last year I have been at times creating a group of paintings in a new original way! I will soon be exhibiting them in both the physical world & on the internet.
