Cheyenna Weber is the Organizing Director for the Responsible Endowments Coalition, an organization that supports student organizing campaigns focusing on pushing universities to act as active shareholders and to finance community economic development. Currently based in NYC, Cheyenna is originally from rural West Virginia, where she initially organized against mountaintop removal mining. She was a lead organizer with the WV Economic Justice Coalition while pursuing a B.A. in History and English at West Virginia University. She has also served as a regional organizer for United Students Against Sweatshops and a community leader in the anti-war movement. After college she headed to grad school to study history, and taught radical American History for two years in community colleges in NYC. She is currently involved in NYC solidarity economy organizing and is passionate about economic justice work that directly empowers individuals and communities with a measure of control over their economic destiny.
