Atkinson, Lonnie | United States

2005 ZMI student. I currently live in South Bend, Indiana. Concerned with the lack of political courage and radical vision in today's music, I turned to songwriting as a form of activism. Free to the public, this work is intended not only as a vehicle for protest, but also as an organizing tool.

Roblin, Stephen | United States

I became political at a young age through my exposure to the daunting problems facing Baltimore city while playing basketball at a west side recreation council. In high school I was introduced to left activist/scholars such as Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky and others, who provided satisfying answers to questions I had about my society’s allowance for such gross inequalities and injustices. ...

Tamulis, Bron | United States

I am a graduate student in Political Science at the University of California at Irvine.  I am interested in some of the theoretical gaps in contemporary political activism/theory...I seem to dwell in the region of Marxism(s) and anarchism, as well as contemporary democratic theory and radical politics.  I am a vegan and I also am interested in re-conceptualizing animal "rights.&q...

Fuller, Abigail | United States

Hmmm....Raised in white, upper-class suburb of NYC. Discovered peace studies as an undergraduate at Colgate University. Got grad degrees in sociology (and discovered feminism and Marxism and anti-racism, in that order) and continued to find joy in peace and justice activism. Started teaching at a small, very humane peace-and-justice-oriented liberal arts college in 1996. Got married and had kid...

Huntsinger, Ren | United States

Currently I live in the Willapa Watershed in Southwestern WA. I've done a lot of different things.  I've thought about a lot of diffferent stuff, especially about the act of thinking itself, about questions of awareness, consciousness, and ultimately what we have no words to express. I am involved with local community building.   I administer our community website for the Twin H...

Help with Searching

The ZSearch facilities are powerful and extensive. They can be userd in diverse ways, all from the top Search Page. We have also, however, ueed them ourselves to provide particular focused searches. This page is an example.

In the filtering area you see that it comes with a default choice for account type. That means it is looking for Wrtiers or Sustainers, as noted. If you change the filter, for example, of course you will be searching amoung a different constituency.

You can also put in a name, or a locale to filter your find list further. You can also select a Group and see members who are Sustainers or Writers, or even from some locale, etc.

Of course the locale filter only works for people who have taken the time to enter their locale...so if you don't find many folks, it doesn't mean that they don't exist in the system. Instead, it could be they haven't entered where they are from....

So, in summary, sarch users by account type such as writer or sutainer, by first name, last name, by interest (where again, this only works for folks who entered one),  group, or by location. Fill out your chosen feilds and then click the search button. Choose from among the results disaplayed or reset your search to start over.
