Kurowski, Mark | United States
It's good to be back, so to speak! In the early 90's I was a beginner activist, and I was a member of ZBBS for its first couple years (it started in 12/93, right?). Then I got busy in life and lost my way. A big kick in the a** woke me up, and I'd like to be a dedicated activist for the next 40 years or so....

Earp, Charley | United States
Utopian Longings Charley's Brief Autobiography For some reason, I always go back to the year of my birth, as if that explains something about my adult self. Nineteen sixty-three was the year that Martin Luther King, Jr. preached his famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the March on Washington. Although just an infant, I imbibed something of that utopian spirit tha...
Smith, Katherine | Scotland
I studied international human rights at the University of London. Subsequently I went abroad to Brazil, during which time my point of view about the world opened up. I started reading John Pilger and found Znet, Medialens, Arundahti Roy and Starhawk - all of whom have deeply inspired me. I decided something had to be done! So I joined the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clo...
George, Justin | Australia
Hi, I live in Melbourne, Australia, and I think I first came across Znet courtesy of the linear notes of a Propagandhi album along time ago. Soon after that Michael Albert gave a talk at my university- University of Queensland- where I first encountered in any detail his proposals on Parecon, which opened my eyes to exciting and new possibilities for progressive change. I particularly related ...
Francis, Janan | United Kingdom
As I suspect has happened with many of us my political awakening was a strong factor (although not the only one) in causing me to examine life in much greater detail and this resulted in a radical vocational change and new life trajectory. I now work in a large hostel for the homeless and live in South East London. I'm convinced that our society is dysfunctional and although there is muc...
Olson, Andrew | United States
For these sixteen years of my life, I’ve slowly come to appreciate the extent of the middle-class bubble; blotting out with shining opacity the hardships of the less-well-to-do, the consequences of my own material affluence, what was being stolen not just from the faceless ‘them’, but from myself; in fact...

Help with Searching
The ZSearch facilities are powerful and extensive. They can be userd in diverse ways, all from the top Search Page. We have also, however, ueed them ourselves to provide particular focused searches. This page is an example.
In the filtering area you see that it comes with a default choice for account type. That means it is looking for Wrtiers or Sustainers, as noted. If you change the filter, for example, of course you will be searching amoung a different constituency.
You can also put in a name, or a locale to filter your find list further. You can also select a Group and see members who are Sustainers or Writers, or even from some locale, etc.
Of course the locale filter only works for people who have taken the time to enter their locale...so if you don't find many folks, it doesn't mean that they don't exist in the system. Instead, it could be they haven't entered where they are from....
So, in summary, sarch users by account type such as writer or sutainer, by first name, last name, by interest (where again, this only works for folks who entered one), group, or by location. Fill out your chosen feilds and then click the search button. Choose from among the results disaplayed or reset your search to start over.
