My hometown is Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, but I have lived in Ohio, Toronto, and Boston, and I currently reside in Vancouver, Canada. I studied Electrical Engineering at MIT, then went on to work at a software company in Toronto, and am now an independent consultant working on business systems projects as a "solutions engineer". In my spare time, I am quite active in the community, and like to stay current with both local and global issues. Recently, I completed the Diploma on Dialogue and Negotiation which is awarded by the Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University. I have fairly strong opinions on the role of media, the situation in Israel/Palestine, the lack of dialogue between the Muslim World and the West. I am interested in Climate Change issues, and particularly the aspect about Urban Development -- land use and its interaction with our transportation habits. I also like to raise awareness about the tremendous work undertaken by the Aga Khan Development Network in international development.
