My late wife and I were asked to help with a literature-drop in Worcester, MA, back in 1994, for a non-binding referendum question, which basically instructed the State Representative from that District to vote for a Single Payer Health Care bill (if introduced).
This question was on the ballot in over 20 Districts across the state that year, and it won in every single one of them, getting 80%+ in some Districts!
With the momentum from this effort, The Massachusetts Campaign for Single Payer Health Care was formed. We now have over 90 constituent member-organizations, and have filed out Single Payer bill, The Massachusetts Health Care Trust in every legislative term since 1996.
