My dad is in the army and so I moved around a lot growing up. I went to most of high school in Leavenworth, KS, where my dad is from. I have a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS (class of 2009). I lived in Ad Astra, a student housing cooperative apart of the University of Kansas Student Housing Assocation for a year. I taught English in  Goheung-eup, Jeollanam-do, South Korea for year. I spent a year in Denver, CO as a full-time "volunteer" with the Urban Servant Corps (affiliated with AmeriCorps) as a Resident Services Intern at Hope Communities and also living in "intentional community" with 9 other USC volunteers. I lived in the Berkeley Student Cooperative while getting my masters degree in environmental engineering at the University of California at Berkeley. I lived at Kidd Hall and Hillegass-Parker House. I currently live in north Oakland in a communal house called Tropolis.
