I am a 31 yrs old Italian experimental physics researcher in low temperature physics, currently taking one year out to study towards a Masters in Philosophy at King's College London.
During my university education in Manchester, UK, ZNet triggered and sustained a serious interest in international political affairs and global economic issues. In many ways ZNet was at the heart of a collective of friends who spontaneously nut intensively kept a lively discussion in the academic environment on these issues. I owe to ZNet and many of its distinguished contributors much of my understanding of international affairs. This is why I decided to become a sustainer.
As a result of this engagement I was inspired to travel abroad and serve in voluntary projects, most notably an agricultural development project near Kampala, Uganda. In addition I was also inspired to fine tune my understanding of global economic issues and studied for a Summer School in Internatioanl Political Economy at the London School of Economics.
These days I am less involved, and perhaps my radicalism has lost its edge, but I still feel I belong to ZNet and want to keep up, if nothing else to challenge my more moderate views, with what is being discussed here.
